Ebook About
I: Reality and Subjectivity concludes the presentation of a long-predicted major advance in critical human knowledge. It explains and describes the very substrate and essence of consciousness as it evolved from its primordial appearance as life on earth on up through evolution as the human ego, and hence, to the ego’s transcendence as the spiritual Reality of Enlightenment and the Presence of Divinity. On the referenced Scale of the Levels of consciousness, which calibrates the levels of Truth from 1 to 1,000, Power versus Force calibrates at 850, The Eye of the I at 980, and the final volume of the trilogy, I, calibrates at a conclusive 999.8. The uncommon clarity and lucidity with which the highly evolved subject matter is presented facilitates the reader’s understanding and comprehension. As with the reading of Power versus Force or The Eye of the I, the reader’s level of consciousness increases measurably as a consequence of exposure to this material itself, which is presented from a catalytic, powerful field of context and exposition. Conflict is resolved within the mind of the student by means of recontextualization, which solves the dilemma. Argument and adversity are resolvable by identifying the positionalities of the ego which are the basis of human suffering.

Book I: Reality and Subjectivity Review :

The main benefit of learning from David Hawkins is that he has the broad spectrum of life experience ranging from a classical education including knowledge of the major Western schools of philosophy, and Christian theology, to being accomplished in the scientific world as a psychiatrist, to being involved in alternative medicine (homeopathy) and New Age belief systems, to being converted from atheism due to an overwhelming spiritual experience that led him to remove himself from public life for many years. He synthesizes Western thought with Eastern, science with religion and spirituality, and subjective experience with objective learning. Nobody else that I know of brings that much to the table, and you'll take a lot away from his books due to his sheer intelligence and breadth of knowledge on the subject of spirituality. What Hawkins does is locate the underlying truth common to all religions and spiritual traditions, and presents that truth to you about as clearly and straightforwardly as possible, in a clinical manner. He then gives you step by step instructions on how to apply that knowledge in order to become a more spiritual person. His teachings are very detailed in this regard, and he addresses just about every possible question you could have, maybe not all in this book, but somewhere in his library. His books are applicable to anyone with even the slightest interest in the subject. To cut to the point, Hawkins has a major flaw and that is his system of calibrating what he calls the "levels of consciousness" which is a scale from 1 to 1000, denoting the lowest form of consciousness to the highest. He bases everything around this, and you must take his numbers for things with a grain of salt because they all come exclusively from him and his wife. He even says himself that a person's intentions can change the calibration. So, say you want to know if a particular controversial political figure tests below 200 (non-integrity, falsehood) or somewhere above. You could get a different number based on your mood. A different person could get a different number than you. What this does, is places all of the authority for these numbers on Hawkins himself. This is obviously a huge caveat, and you'd have to be a fool to take him based on faith.Whether Hawkins was enlightened or not - let's assume he was - he was still a man with his own biases. He claimed he was beyond that, but that would mean he is infallible and of course that cannot possibly be true. He uses Jesus and Buddha, among others, as examples of spiritual teachers who calibrated at 1000. Fair enough. However, he claims that this very book calibrates at a level of 999.8 - higher than every single piece of holy scripture in human history, according to his numbers, including those containing the teachings of Jesus and the Buddha.I don't think so. This is a fine book, and David Hawkins is a fine teacher, one of the best by my reckoning. But is still just a man, and this is still just a book. Apply the practices he teaches, seek the subjective experience of God as he describes, and decide for yourself.
For me, this was like reading my own personal thoughts/conclusions that I’ve not ever been able to express with any level of coherence. I feel like my whole life I’ve been bombarded by agenda that’s aimed to keep me from realizing what I’ve always been inclined to believe — all of which is reflected in this trilogy. Regardless of how skeptical you might be or how little you feel that you’re comprehending in the moment while reading this trilogy, just expose yourself to its content.
